Nimue’s Gift and Timelines

Nimue's Gift, book #10 of the Dragons of Incendium series of paranormal romances by Deborah CookeThe next short story in the Dragons of Incendium story will be Nimue’s Gift. This short story will be published this summer, as soon as I can get to it. I’m up to my eyes in the new editions for Dragonfire right now, but that will be done soon.

Nimue’s Gift will be included in the print edition of Wyvern’s Angel, so look for that print edition to be published at roughly the same time.

This short story will get our timeline back on track. 🙂

You may have noticed that Wyvern’s Outlaw overlaps the timeline of Wyvern’s Warrior. Anguissa’s story starts about 2/3 of the way through Thalina’s story. This is one thing, but Wyvern’s Angel also overlaps the storyline of Wyvern’s Warrior – Percipia’s story starts even before Anguissa’s story does. So, these three stories actually occur almost concurrently. This means that there will be three royal infants born at almost the same time, so naturally, a dragon like Ouros would host a party to celebrate. That’s what happens in Nimue’s Gift.

In terms of the timeline, in the meantime, in Celo’s Quest, Celo came to Incendium with a pregnant Gemma. So, this story occurred after these three romances. In the epilogue of Wyvern’s Angel, Gemma’s baby has been born – so technically, Celo’s Quest occurs before that epilogue. Nimue’s Gift happens after all of that. King Ouros has delayed both his hunting trip to Terra with Ignita and his mission to Cumae with Acion and Arkan, both of which will happen after Nimue’s Gift.

The next romance in the series will be Nero and Peri’s story, Wyvern’s Wizard. I’m thinking this will happen concurrently with Bellatora and Celo’s story, Wyvern’s Hunter, but we’ll see how it all shakes out. More about both of those stories closer to publication.

Of course, there’s a reason why there’s all this romantic activity in the royal family of Incendium at the same time, even though these dragon shifters live for centuries. You’ll learn more about that in Nimue’s Gift. 🙂
