The Crusader’s Handfast: Part Six

The Crusader's Handfast: Part Six by Claire Delacroix I have an update for you today on the final installment of Duncan and Radegunde’s story, The Crusader’s Handfast: Part Six. As you might have guessed, since there isn’t an Amazon link yet, I’m running late on this story.

There are a couple of reasons for that. It’s longer than I expected. The finished installment will probably be twice the length of the previous ones. Secondly, I had a horrible cold this month, and being sick always affects my writing. Instead of finishing up before I went to conferences, I wrote myself into a corner and was stuck. 😦

The good news is that I’ve sorted out the trouble and am charging toward the finish. I expect to be done this week, and then the story has to be both edited and formatted. As a result, I’ve moved the publication date to June 21. (The change may still be perking through at your portal of choice.) I’ll put it up for pre-order everywhere once the book is off to my editor.

The Crusader's Handfast, #5 in the Champions of Saint Euphemia series of medieval romances by Claire DelacroixThe full book will be put up for pre-order as soon as possible, too. At Amazon, it can only be 90 days in advance of publication, so the October publication date means that the book will be up for pre-order at Amazon in July. It’ll be available sooner at other portals. I’ll share the links with you when they’re live. These ones are live now.

RTC and BookCon

May is here, which means I’ll be attending two reader conferences back-to-back.

f3a66-rtc2015The first is Romancing the Capital, organized by Eve Langlais, which will be held in Ottawa May 5 – 8. This is the second year for this reader conference, and I’m sure it will be even more fun than it was last year. I’m teaching a workshop on Thursday, then will be on a couple of panels and have my own Knights vs. Dragons session again. There are theme parties on Friday and Saturday night, and a big booksigning on Saturday afternoon. The conference is sold out, but the booksigning is open to the public. If you’re attending, be sure to say hello!

The Crusader's Bride, a medieval romance by Claire DelacroixI’ll come home, turn around, and fly to Chicago for BookCon on Saturday May 14. This reader event is always scheduled at the end of BookExpo America, and has been an amazing event when I’ve participated before. I’ll be signing in the RWA booth (#1712) at noon on Saturday. I’ll have copies of The Crusader’s Bride to give away, as well as print copies of my 2016 Sampler.

Wyvern's Mate, book #1 in the Dragons of Incendium series of paranormal romances by Deborah CookeThere’s been an exciting addition to my plans for both conferences. I’ll have some print copies of Wyvern’s Mate for both events. These paperbacks are in a smaller size I haven’t used before, which is closer to a mass market paperback. I think they’re so cute!

RONE Awards

I was delighted to learn recently that I’m a double-finalist in the 2016 RONE Awards, hosted by InD’Tale magazine, in the medieval romance category. The contenders are chosen on the basis of their ranking by staff reviewers. The Crusader’s Bride and The Crusader’s Heart are both in the running, which is particularly sweet as those are the only two books I’ve sent to this publication for review. It’s also an honor to be in the company of these authors, many of whom are friends.

Next it’s time for readers to speak up. YOU can vote this week on your favorite medieval romance among the finalists, and you can do that right here.

Good luck to all the finalists!
